9.30 am to 4 pm Saturday 18th April 2026
This landscape oil painting workshop is designed for both beginners and experienced artists. Participants will have the opportunity to paint Fiordland’s iconic Mitre Peak on a 12 x16 inch canvas, employing techniques honed from over 20 years of painting practice.
A little bit about Sean…
Sean is a realism oil painter who lives in Christchurch with his wife, Daniella, and three young boys, Leo, James and Beau.
He was a teacher for nearly 20 years with a significant portion of his career dedicated to teaching Art at International Schools in South Africa and Hong Kong. Since returning to Christchurch in 2022, Sean has devoted himself to painting full-time, focusing on the breathtaking landscapes of New Zealand.
Sean’s artistic style revolves around landscapes featuring a prominent light source and a captivating atmosphere. His goal is to convey the intricate textures and minute details in a way that allows the viewer to not only see the scene but also experience it.
