Lynda Scott

I have been painting now for 32 years. Initially I tried all mediums but have decided to concentrate on watercolours as I like the challenge the medium presents. Watercolour is a transparent medium and can look stunning if the lights and darks are captured and presented to the viewer in a painting. I strive to achieve this in every painting.

I have recently taken some watercolour workshops for beginners and enjoy teaching and seeing the results of painters new to the medium, who are keen to learn.

I mainly exhibit at the ASA Short St Studio Selling Gallery in the various shows we hold throughout the year, and have also exhibited at Akaroa, Darfield and Methven galleries.

The Mid Canterbury landscape has been a major influence in the subject of my paintings for many years, however I love to also paint flowers, animals and anything else that presents a challenge.
