Saturday 16 March 2024 10am-4pm at Short St Studio
Clive has been using pastels exclusively for seven years and has won several awards in Timaru and Geraldine exhibitions and the National Pastel Artists of NZ pastel challenge.
He describes using pastels as “painting with sticks and pencils”. He favours the medium for its flexibility and ease of being to correct any mistakes easily. The technique is the same as using oils and acrylics but without the need of drying time. Pastels mainly used the dark to light method using pure pigments bound with a fine clay. This results in bright, vibrant colours and stunning results.
The theme of the workshop is ‘open’. The subject matter is your choice. Clive is an experienced tutor who will guide through this exciting day.
The workshop will suit all skill levels.

Materials list will follow.
Some papers will be provided and a small selection of pastels will be available for beginners.
